New Oppo Watch X3: blood glucose sensor and blood pressure monitoring feature

Alongside the Find N6 foldable flagship, Oppo has also introduced its new smartwatch, the Oppo Watch X3. Featuring a circular design, the new model serves as an upgraded successor to last year’s Watch X2, bringing a slimmer body, premium materials, and expanded health-tracking capabilities.

The Oppo Watch X3 is built with a TC4 titanium alloy body, a material known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. It is widely used in the aerospace industry as well as in medical implants. The redesigned strap also stands out with a distinctive “bamboo joint” design, combining fluororubber segments with metal connectors.

The display is protected by durable sapphire glass, while the screen itself is a 1.5-inch LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. Compared to the previous generation, the new display is 36% brighter and reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

According to Oppo, the Watch X3 is 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner than its predecessor. The watch measures 47.4 mm in diameter, 11 mm in thickness, and weighs 43 grams. For comparison, the Watch X2 had a diameter of 47.6 mm, a thickness of 11.8 mm, and a weight of 49.7 grams.

Despite its slimmer body, the battery capacity remains unchanged. The smartwatch is equipped with a 646mAh battery. Oppo says it can last up to 3 days under heavy use, 5 days under normal use, and as long as 16 days in power-saving mode. With 7.5W fast charging, a full charge takes around 75 minutes, while just 10 minutes of charging is enough for 24 hours of use.

The Oppo Watch X3 also maintains strong durability credentials. It comes with 5ATM water resistance, IP68, and IP69 certifications, meaning it is protected against dust, water, and even high-pressure water jets.

One of the watch’s key upgrades is its enhanced health sensor system. The Oppo Watch X3 supports continuous glucose monitoring, delivering real-time readings and alerting users to possible irregularities. In addition, it offers blood pressure monitoring and can help assess the user’s risk of hypertension.

These features complement a broader set of health tools already familiar from the previous model. The watch also includes ECG, vascular health monitoring, heart rate and blood oxygen tracking, sleep quality analysis, sleep apnea detection, and a wrist temperature sensor.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Oppo Watch X3 supports more than 100 sports modes. It can measure VO2 Max, lactate threshold, recovery time, aerobic training effect, and heart rate recovery, while also offering an AI-powered coaching feature. For outdoor activities, the watch supports dual-band GPS (L1+L5), as well as BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS for more accurate positioning.

In terms of connectivity, the Oppo Watch X3 features 4G eSIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. NFC support is intended for access cards and public transportation, although the exact specifications of the global version have yet to be confirmed.

The official specifications state that the smartwatch is powered by the Snapdragon W5 chipset. However, it remains unclear whether this is the original version of the chip or the newer W5 Gen 2.

The Oppo Watch X3 is currently available for pre-order in China through Oppo’s online store. It comes in Global Star Orange, Gravity Black, and Infinite Titanium color options. Notably, the Gravity Black version features a standard fluororubber strap, while the other two variants come with the signature “bamboo joint” strap.

As for pricing, the Gravity Black model is priced at CNY 2,600 under normal conditions, but is available for CNY 2,210 during the early pre-order period. The other two versions are priced at CNY 2,800 normally and CNY 2,380 during pre-orders. Open sales are scheduled to begin on the 20th of this month.

Additional details regarding the global release and the international version are expected to be announced at a later date.
