iPhone 16 tops the charts as the best-selling phone of Q1 2025

According to the latest Counterpoint Research report, Apple and Samsung dominated the list of top-selling smartphones between January and March 2025. Out of the top 10, 9 were either Apple or Samsung, with Xiaomi making only one appearance.

The iPhone 16 was the best-selling smartphone, marking a return to form for the base model since 2023. It performed exceptionally well in the Middle East, Africa, and Japan, where it recorded its strongest growth.

In second place came the iPhone 16 Pro Max, followed by the iPhone 16 Pro, with the Pro series making up nearly half of Apple’s iPhone sales in Q1.

iPhone 15 took fourth place, with Samsung’s Galaxy A16 5G being the brand’s top-selling phone in fifth.

Further down the list: Galaxy A06 claimed sixth, Galaxy S25 Ultra – the only premium Samsung model – landed seventh, Redmi 14C from Xiaomi took eighth, and the final two spots went to the Galaxy A55 and iPhone 16 Plus.
